Oh and, while I'm at it, and since xbox fanboys are in all the threads related to the PS4 these days, how about we talk about their beloved xbox one s a little for a change, huh? Since trolls spam the same inane drivel again and again, I think I'm allowed to just repost here what I had posted in an old thread.
At the end of the day, this is what the design of the xbox one s reminds me of:

The PS4 slim's design, while not too bad, is not the greatest, but the PS4 Pro actually looks the part in my opinion. Based on the new "body language" expressed by the slim, if I may say so, the Pro's design, along with its name, is a clear statement of intent.
I swear, all that bitching about the PS4 Pro... It's like people were expecting Sony to pull a Microsoft and abandon their userbase after only 3 years by coming up with a brand new generation of consoles. Nope, the PS4 Pro is not the PS5 yet, it is still a PS4, and there are plenty marvelous games coming out for it in the very near future. Deal with it.
Same here. Can't believe they've progressively moved on to a point where we have to consider ourselves lucky if there's a single sheet of paper in the case to give a vague briefing on controls today.
I don't miss having to use memory cards or wired controllers or having to deal with games in 50Hz (something neither the japanese nor the americans have ever had to deal with) though,
This is what all these PC nerds forget to say when they talk about making your own PC rig in that posh manner that suits them so well. It's an interesting idea, mind you, but you still only play on a small monitor screen on PC, whereas you play on 55"-65" TVs with consoles. Most people just don't have enough room to place their PC rig and the desk that goes along with it, and the chair, next to their TV that's usually in their living room. Also, you play with wireless co...
Yep. Still, like this, it's impressive as hell. I can hardly notice a difference.
Now in motion of course, I can tell the 60fps if it runs on a monster of a PC that can also simultaneously display this game in 4K, and the PS4 Pro version won't be 4K @ 60fps, but that PC would need a graphic card worth 1200$, in addition to the rest, to do that, while the PS4 Pro is only a 399$ console.
Impressive.
This is not cool from Bethesda to demand Sony accept ALL AND ANY MOD on the PS4...
Funny, we came to the same conclusion when I hadn't read your post. Great minds think alike. ;-)
Exactly. Also, the guy who wrote the article is full of sh!t when he says Sony has a history of being more tight with gamers, he doesn't remember the mod support for the PS3 edition of Unreal III when the 360 version didn't have it? Or the custom animated themes on the PS3? Oh the removal of Linux, right, but what happened before that? If a little punk, who may just have been a MS fanboy and sony hater for all we know, hadn't hacked the PS3 using Linux it would still be available ...
So that's Forbes? Yet another american publication talking its readers out of buying the "other" product to try and sway them into buying the product put out (well, "Made in China" suffice to say) by the "national hero" Microsoft, regardless of what their needs are. For all they know the vast majority of their readers may not have a 4K TV (highly probable) and could be more interested in gaming/games/extra power (also probable), but somehow they choose to not...
Stop with that nonsense. The scorpio won't do much more than the PS4 Pro will, it won't have more native 4K titles than the PS4 Pro. But it will be a lot more expensive, that you can be sure of.
If you want native 4K, you're gonna have to wait for the PS5, and even then it will be hard to do at a commercially viable price for the two major actors of the industry.
It doesn't matter all that much as there's not a lot of physical 4K content right now (a 100 UHD BR movies, not real 4K at that), but under the condition that we can play our own 4K content from a HDD connected to the PS4 Pro. Can we do that? I don't see why not, as the original PS4 has a media player if I'm not mistaken, that allows you to play your photo, music, and video files, so it should be obvious.
It will attract the majority of gamers because:
-It's available almost right now, as opposed to the oh-so-cult scorpio that barely exists even on paper and is still a solid 1 year ½ away
-It's still the same price as the normal PS4 (399$/€)
-It's the most powerful console ever, and by quite a margin (more than double the power of the PS4, more than 3 times over the xbox one s)
-It's the only way for console-only gamers to play in 4K (bo...
Noooooooo, stuff.tv, didn't you get your memo? You're supposed to be panning Sony and the PS4 PRO, not say nice things about it!
"And if you do stand it up you'll be able to get a closer look at the PlayStation symbols on the bottom that act as feet when the device is lying flat. They're a super-cute touch in our book."
"the PS4 Pro is significantly more powerful than the original PS4 and new PS4 Slim. We're talking abou...
That "run" is not going to be very long to be honest. Probably about 3 years from now the PS5 will come out, and then IT WILL have support for Ultra HD Blu-Rays, as those and 4K TV sets will be more mainstream than they are today.
Do they recommend also buying a new AV receiver? What I mean by that is, does the PS4 Pro have an optical out?
Yeah I remember reading somewhere that recent Hollywood movies like The Martian or Mad Max or Interstellar were only shot in 4K, and the mastering, or whatever it's called, the process of adding SFX was done only in sub-resolutions to that, like 1080p, so those are actually not real 4K movies in the end.
"the PlayStation 4 Pro barely offers any improvement over the standard model"
It's a joke or what? What are the improvements when it comes to the Xbox One S compared to the original Xbox One? Slightly smaller, right big feat right there, given the size of the original one, and 4K BR support, which doesn't even work right now if I'm not mistaken. If there's a power increase it sits at 1% at best. The Xbox One S is exactly an Xbox One coupled with a ...
"Vague language"? "Playstation 4 Pro" isn't vague language to me, it's what the console is, a Playstation 4 for more demanding consumers. And it can use 4K in just about every way:
-reads native 4K games (The Last of Us Remastered for a start)
-reads upscaled 4K games
-reads digital 4K content
but doesn't read UHD Blu-Rays, which I agree is a mistake. Here's hoping it can be patched in later.
That's a sandwich I want, particularly the bigger one, hummmm, yummy!
